The only Made-Safe certified bottles on the planet. Insulated with a certified lead-free seal.

Pura Stainless was conceived with a simple vision…to provide the safest and most adaptable juvenile feeding and adult hydration solutions to consumers around the world. But merely saying one offers “safe” bottles has become all too common.

With scant legislation, little to no regulation around chemicals in commerce, and undisclosed ingredients, it’s nearly impossible for consumers to ascertain whether or not a product may cause harm to their families.

Pura is happy that this conundrum of safe bottles (and other products) is finally being assessed in a quantitative manner by an independent third party (MadeSafe.org). We are elated to report that Pura products have been certified by MadeSafe as NONTOXIC, the only such bottles on the global market to achieve this status.

Our products do not contain lead. For our insulated bottles and other insulated items, we use lead-free solder.

In fact, Pura pioneered the development and use of lead-free solder back in 2017—setting a new standard for safety in the industry.

No, not at all. The concern about a “metallic taste” usually comes from using aluminium bottles, not stainless steel. Pura bottles are made from high-grade 304 stainless steel, which is an inert material—meaning it won’t absorb or transfer any flavours or odours to your child’s drinks or food. You can rest assured that every sip tastes just as it should.

Pura bottles are made from high-quality stainless steel, which is naturally resistant to rust and corrosion. However, to maintain these properties, proper care is essential, especially ensuring the bottle has access to air and remains dry when not in use.

Rust spots are extremely rare, but if they do appear, it’s usually because the bottle was not dried thoroughly before being reassembled or stored. Always allow all parts to dry completely before putting them back together.

If you notice minor spots, try cleaning the area gently with a non-metal scrubbing cloth or sponge—avoid steel wool or anything abrasive that could damage the protective oxide layer. Do not use bleach.

Instead, you can safely clean the area using baking soda or soak the bottle in table vinegar overnight, which often helps remove any discolouration or deposits.

Insulated bottles can keep liquids warm for up to 6 hours at room temperature. For cold drinks, they can keep the temperature for at least 8 hours, and up to 24 hours if ice is added to the liquid.

It’s important to note that a thermal bottle is not the same as a thermos. This means that liquids in thermal bottles will cool faster than in a fully insulated vessel. The cooling time depends directly on the ambient temperature. For a detailed explanation of the difference between a thermal bottle and a thermos, see the question below.

Not exactly.

Thermoses are designed with a lid that creates a complete vacuum inside the bottle, which helps maintain the temperature of the liquid for an extended period of time.

On the other hand, Pura thermal bottles have silicone lids or tops that do not create a full vacuum inside. As a result, the liquid will cool down a bit faster compared to a thermos. At room temperature, the bottle can keep liquids warm for up to 6 hours. However, the cooler the surrounding temperature, the faster the liquid will cool.

Pura Kiki bottles are designed as a complete system with their own specially designed components. While our bottles work perfectly with all Pura accessories, they are not specifically designed to be compatible with other brands' teats, spouts, or lids.

For the best performance and to maintain the 100% plastic-free integrity of your Pura products, we recommend using only genuine Pura components with your bottles.

The Pura system is designed to grow with your child – from infant bottles with teats to sippy spouts, straw tops, and sport tops – meaning you can continue using the same bottle base throughout your child's development by simply changing the top components.

Yes! Our One Life… One Bottle™ system allows parents to simply change the silicone top when their child is ready for the next stage.  So any of our bottles can be transformed into infant bottles, sippy bottles, straw bottles, sport bottles and even bottles for storage.

Currently, we do not offer engraving or personalisation services, but you can add your own custom stickers or name tags as long as they are safe for stainless steel surfaces.

Orders & Shipping

Our main website serves Australia and NZ. For other regions, we recommend checking our global partners like Pura Nordic or the US site.

Yes, we do offer express post as a shipping option! This expedited delivery service is available at checkout for customers who need their Pura Kiki products more quickly.

Please note that all orders are typically despatched within 1-3 working days, regardless of the shipping method selected. The express post option will speed up the delivery time once your package has been despatched from our warehouse.

Once your order has been dispatched, you'll receive an email with your tracking number. You can then track the progress of your shipment by entering your tracking number with the shipping service provided.

If no information is appearing, it might be because there haven't been any new delivery scans yet. We recommend waiting 24 hours after receiving your tracking number to allow our delivery partners to update their systems.

If it's been more than 24 hours, feel free to reach out to our Customer Service team, and we'll be happy to investigate, or can launch your own investigation.

We'd love to help with any changes you need, but it depends on where your order is in our fulfilment process. Once we've packed your order and entered it into our system (which we often do quite quickly), we generally can't make changes to the delivery address or shipping method.

If you need to request a change, please contact us as soon as possible after placing your order, and we'll do our best to accommodate if we can!

Unfortunately, we generally cannot cancel orders once they've been placed. Once orders are entered into our third-party logistics system (3PL), cancellation becomes even more difficult as other businesses handle the packing process.

We appreciate your understanding that this policy helps us maintain efficient operations and deliver your Pura Kiki products promptly.

If you encounter any problems with your order, contact Pura's customer support through their Contact Us page.

Pura Stainless water bottles are covered by a limited lifetime warranty granted to the original bottle purchaser or owner.

Our warranty covers leakage, manufacturing defects or other failures that occur during normal use. We do not cover failures due to the bottle being dropped off El Capitan, sucked into a chipper or run over by a semi nor do we cover bottles with general dents. (We suggest that you use a silicone sleeve or bumper on your bottle to protect them from dents) Our warranty is designed to ensure that if you use and care for your bottle in a reasonable manner it will be the last water bottle you ever purchase.

The silicone accessories are considered wear items and are not covered by our lifetime warranty. To make your spouts last longer we recommend taking the bottle away from your child if they don’t appear to be actively drinking from it as this will prevent passive teething on the spout or straw.

Always check the spout or straw before each use (and remove any loose silicone pieces before giving the bottle to your child).

To make a warranty claim please send an e-mail and include a description of the problem, how it occurred and images or video of the fault. Our warranty department will respond with with a warranty authorisation number and details on how to obtain your replacement bottle.

Care & Usage

Keeping your Pura bottle clean is simple! Our stainless steel bottles are dishwasher safe, but you can also easily wash them by hand—thanks to the wide-mouth design that makes cleaning a breeze.

The bottles are quick to disassemble, so regular maintenance is hassle-free.

For stubborn buildup or discoloration (like from hard water), try soaking the bottle overnight in plain white vinegar.

To clean, use a soft cloth or sponge—avoid anything abrasive like steel wool, as it can damage the protective oxide layer of the stainless steel.

Please don’t use bleach or harsh antibacterial agents.  For a safe, eco-friendly clean, baking soda and water do the trick beautifully.

Yes, all medical-grade silicone tops can be safely sterilised by boiling. We recommend boiling them before their first use. However, make sure not to exceed 5 minutes of boiling time, as extended exposure to high heat may damage the material.

As for the stainless steel bottle itself, you can place it in hot water for up to 10 minutes, but only after the water has stopped boiling.

Important: Never attempt to sterilise any metal parts in a microwave, as this can be dangerous.

Vacuum insulated bottles (thermo bottles) should never be placed in the freezer or exposed to freezing temperatures. Doing so can damage the vacuum seal between the two layers of metal and reduce the bottle’s insulation performance.

If you need to store milk in the freezer, only use single-wall bottles along with a lid and silicone sealing disc.

When freezing, ensure you do not overfill:

  • For a 325ml bottle, fill no more than 235ml (8oz)

  • For a 150ml bottle, fill no more than 120ml (4oz)

This allows room for the liquid to expand safely as it freezes and helps prevent the stainless steel from warping.

Pura bottles are suitable for all drinks, including milk, but it's important to maintain the sterility of any product used for storing baby food.

A valuable benefit of storing milk in a stainless steel bottle is that the milk isn't exposed to light, which can destroy some of the valuable nutrients in breast milk.

It's important to remember that milk, including breast milk, is a perishable product. Therefore, it should not be stored out of the refrigerator for more than 2 hours at room temperature.

If you're feeding your baby formula, you can use a thermo bottle:

  • pour warm water into it and immediately before feeding, dilute the dry mixture in warm water
  • don't store warmed milk or formula for more than 2 hours to avoid bacteria growth

To store milk in the freezer, use a lid with a silicone disc. When using a 325 ml bottle, do not fill above the 8oz (235 ml) mark; with a 150 ml bottle, don't fill higher than the 4 oz mark (120 ml) to avoid deformation of the steel when the liquid expands during freezing.

It is strictly forbidden to use Insulated bottles for freezing as this may break the vacuum insulation.

For hot liquids, ONLY Pura insulated bottles are suitable.

Pura bottles are crafted from sheets of steel with an optimum thickness to reduce the weight of the bottle. If you pour very hot liquids into single-walled (non-thermo) Pura bottles, the steel will expand due to physical laws, causing the bottom of the bottle to become convex. This deformation is permanent, and the bottle will likely not return to its original shape. However, moderately warm liquids will not cause any issues with the bottle.

The issue with hot liquids is that the steam rises and causes the silicone to expand, which temporarily affects the seal of the lid. This can lead to a risk of burns from hot steam.

Recommendations for very hot drinks:

Use silicone discs with hot drinks. These discs allow you to pour boiling water into the bottle, immediately close the lid, and confidently place the bottle in your bag without worrying about leaks.

Stainless steel bottles should never be placed in the microwave, and microwaves should not be used for heating milk or formula. It's widely recognised in nursing and paediatric fields that neither breast milk nor formula should be warmed in a microwave, as this practice doesn't align with safe and healthy feeding practices for babies.

You can follow these simple warming methods:

Use an electric bottle warmer: please ensure you follow the manufacturer's instructions. OR Place your stainless bottle filled with milk or other liquid in a pot or mug of heated water for 1-2 minutes, or until the bottle feels lukewarm. OR You may run hot tap water over the bottom portion of the bottle for about 30 seconds.

The milk must be warmed before pouring it into the insulated container. Please feed warmed milk immediately and discard any unused milk within 1 hour. Never place the metal bottle in a microwave.

Always ensure that liquids given to children are no hotter than 37°C (99°F) and, as a precaution, always test the temperature on your wrist before feeding.

If you've given the straw a proper wash before first use and it's still tricky to drink from, it might be due to the air vents not being fully opened.

To check, gently press on the small air vents with your finger until you hear a soft “pop” — that means they’ve opened correctly. The same goes for the drinking vents; if they’re not fully open, sipping can be difficult.

In most cases, a quick squeeze on the vents is all it takes to get things flowing smoothly again.

If a filled bottle is dropped onto a hard surface, the steel may get slightly dented. However, this will not affect the functionality of the bottle, and it will not break like a glass bottle. A deformed bottom may affect the stability of the bottle.

To avoid dents, we recommend using protective silicone bumpers designed for baby bottles, as babies are more likely to drop things.

These bumpers can also help restore stability to bottles that have already been dented from frequent falls.
